There was no other Marvel show I looked forward to the most than The Punisher. From season two of Daredevil, I was hooked on Jon Bernthal as the anti-hero Frank Castle. For a “side character”, we got so much from the second season of Daredevil, but it didn’t even scratch the surface. In many ways, we can throw out what we know about The Punisher and rewrite the narrative. You haven’t met the real Frank Castle until you’ve seen The Punisher. Let’s be honest in this article; Iron Fist was not Marvel’s most popular Netflix show. It was certainly not the most anticipated. On a personal level, the ones I looked most forward to were Daredevil and The Defenders. Jessica Jones was highly praised due to its female empowerment and treatment of the sensitive subject of sexual assault. And Luke Cage broke Netflix, so…you probably can guess how well-liked that show was.

It felt like an eternity waiting for the news, but today was finally the day. No more than an hour ago, The Punisher Twitter dropped the latest trailer after a series of small tips and hints as to what was to come in the new show.
November 17th of 2017 will be the day that most Marvel fans will be looking forward to with baited breath. Ever since his debut in Daredevil, many have waited to see Frank Castle get his own series and the small tidbits have made the wait all the longer. The newest trailer gives a deeper look into what made Frank The Punisher and how he plans on bringing down the people that turned him into a personal weapon.
The music is what makes the trailer, as we feel the adrenaline going through the Punisher’s footsteps, holding our breaths as we realize how big the conspiracy with Frank Castle truly has been. Not only the DA, but the American government is involved with bringing down the man. It seems to be that many of Frank Castle’s old friends will be showing their faces too as we are greeted by even more new characters and how their roles will affect Frank.
One more month and we will all be calling in sick to binge-watch The Punisher bringing down something much bigger than himself.
In typical Frank Castle style, The Punisher twitter page doesn’t make anything easy for its fans. Having been elusive prior to The Defenders premiere, the twitter page dedicated to Frank Castle’s show has slowly been creeping out from under a rock. While fans anxiously wait for a premiere date to the highly anticipated show, we were given a small gift…we just had to decode it.
Just the other day, The Punisher’s twitter page posted a numerous amount of tweets that seemed to confuse many – including me. Finally, someone figured out that these odds symbols were, in fact, Morse code. Grea! Who knows Morse code? Luckily, these messages were decoded and what we were given, were the titles of all thirteen episodes for The Punisher season one.
- 3 am
- Two Dead Men
- The Judas Goat
- Cold Steel
- Front Toward Enemy
- Virtue of the Vicious
- Danger Close
- Memento Mori
It’s something small, but it’s at least something! Having the episode titles gives us a slight tidbit of what direction The Punisher series/season is going to go in. Officials told us that the Frank Castle centric show would have more of a military feel than the other Netflix Marvel shows. That and the small teaser trailer released this week, we can surmise there’s also going to be a bit of espionage. Which, makes sense, since, towards the end of Daredevil season 2, we found that the slaying of Frank Castle’s family was no random accident. Hopefully, these are questions that will be answered soon.
Ever since Jon Bernthal premiered as anti-hero Frank Castle in the second season of Daredevil, I’ve been a fan. When I heard there was going to be a series on Netflix for The Punisher, I was even more pumped. Jon Bernthal, Deborah Ann Woll, and others have been spotted in New York City filming for the new show the past few months. Though there is no specific release date, people surmise it will be sometime in the fall of 2017.
Unfortunately, the new pictures are from Getty and due to legality issues, I cannot post them directly to this page. But, please go take a look here for some Frank Castle goodness. If you do click this link, you can see a familiar Frank; that is a beat up Frank. In Daredevil Season 2, the Punisher sported gnarly looking bruises most of the time we saw him. I was getting worried with all previous The Punisher set photos when he wasn’t scuffed up.
Hopefully, we’ll get a release date soon. Since they are still filming, a relate date may not be announced for some time now. Either way, it is definitely my most anticipated Netflix Marvel show. Of course, we have The Defenders coming out this summer and keep your fingers crossed that we get a Frank Castle cameo.
The Punisher series will star Jon Bernthal, Deborah Ann Woll, Ben Barnes, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and many more!
